Berachampa Deulia Uchcha Vidyalaya (BDUV) is a Higher secondary school at Berachampa of Barasat Subdivision. This is one of the old schools of Barasat Subdivisional area. The school has got permission of Calcutta University and undertaken by government on 2 January 1948.Currently more than 2300 students (approximately) are reading in this school. This is actually a boy's school in status but after Madhyamik Standard it was declared as a co-educational school. Now Mr. Kamal Krishna Mondal is the Head master and Sri Bishnupada Mishra is the asst. Head master.And Mr. Amar seth is the secretary for the managing committee of the school.

History

The school was originally named the Deulia M.E. School and was renamed Sir Stanly Jackson Uttam Vidyamandir. The government would later take over the school give it its current name. The school is situated on Chandraketu Garh, a historic location in West Bengal.

Campus

There is a small field enclosed within three walls from the building and one side left open for entry. The school has two floors.

Communication

The school is situated beside Haroa Road.The school is well communicated with railway and bus routes.Buses from kolkata to Baduria,Bashirhat,Najat,Hasnabad etc. will go through Berachampa.For the rail communication,the nearest station is Harua Road of Sealdah-Hasnabad division of eastern railway.

Results of 2009

The highest marks on Madhyamik was 743 and on Higher Secondary was 442 in this year.Percentage of successful candidate in Madhyamik was 100% and in HS 98%(Science 100%,Commerce 100% and Arts 94%).

Cultural Activities

Many cultural Programs occur in this school(like:Independence day celebration,republican day celebration,rabindra jayanti,najrul jayanti etc.). There is also a school magazine, titled Bihan, that is published annually. The Saraswati Puja is an annual ceremony. An autumn-cultural ceremony,including intra-institution award distribution.

Games and Sports

Cricket,football and volleyball are played by the students.This school plays in inter school cricket and football tournament.Inter class football tournament also occurs in every august.With this in every February the annual sports competition held.
